A Hand Up Charitable Foundation was established in 2007 by local philanthropist and entrepreneur Gregg Lisciotti of Leominster. As a result of his vision, a unique foundation and approach to giving and receiving has been born. A Hand Up Charitable Foundation has developed a “needs up” approach – involving representatives from area nonprofit organizations in the initial development of policies, procedures, board selection, and donor prospects, as well as the identification of community needs. This collaboration creates an atmosphere of trust and transparency with donors and volunteers. This “give and take” is a healthy exchange of ideas that enriches the proposal process.

A Hand Up Charitable Foundation has regular meetings with constituents, nonprofit Executive Directors, and Board members, giving invitees the opportunity to share information, resources, and measurable results. The Foundation also promotes collaboration among nonprofits to prevent unnecessary duplication of services and to offer enhanced opportunities for needy persons.
